Course Overview


Bread making adds a whole new dimension to your culinary adventures. Magic happens when you combine flour, yeast, salt and water. Watch as they “grow, mature and transform” into a myriad of aromatic, tasty bread varieties.

In this WSQ certified Basic Bread Preparation course, you will learn an array of unique bread recipes, from traditional brioche to café favourites bomboloni and Asian classic polo bun, there is a recipe to satisfy every palate. Learn techniques to mix, knead, shape and proof the dough. Explore different methods of baking delicious and flavourful bread.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT: 

• Age 21 and above

• Education level: Primary education

• Learners have attained competency in Basic Pastry Preparation (Level 2) or have experience in preparing basic pastry products

• Have attained competency in Fundamental Bread Preparation course (Level 1 or equivalent) or have knowledge and experience in preparing fundamental bread products

• Workplace Literacy & Numeracy level: At least level 2 (listening / speaking and reading / writing)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

- Make basic bread in accordance with the industry standards

- Make café style bread in accordance with the industry standards

- Make Asian style bread in accordance with the industry standards
